Apparently it's been done and can work, especially if you have enough
space that folks who want to stay late can bring sleeping bags and leave
for work from there the next day.

Of course that may argue against doing it in a household where weeknight
noise might disturb neighbors, so my place might not be optimal for this
particular purpose.
