Subject: Boskone filk program -- thanks!

For everyone who helped out with the Boskone filk program, I'd like to give
my thanks. Juanita, of course, was a wonderful performer and panelist, and
is getting her own written note. Mark did lots of program stuff, including
a concert set, kids' filk, and some non-filk items such as "the Klingon
Hamlet." Frank and Larissa did their first concert set and were well
received. Ed and Mew brought in the big keyboard and provided a concert
set, as well as help in other items. Lois led both rounds and hymnal
singing. Denise did a well-received voice workshop; one of the comments at
yesterday's debriefing is that future cons should include more workshops,
and Denise's was specifically cited as one that went well. The OK Chorale
performed to an SRO crowd, even if that was because there wasn't much
seating in the room. Paul Ciszek helped out generally, and organized a
well-attended Science Songs session in spite of its being held at 10 AM on
Sunday.

Another comment at the debriefing was that filk is well integrated into the
main program, rather than being off in its own corner, and that this is a
good thing. It's certainly what we've been aiming for, and it's part of
what puts Boskone -- in my obviously biased opinion -- among the best
regional cons for filk programming.
