According to Opodo (www.opodo.co.uk) the cost of return flights from Heathrow to Glasgow, including taxes, for my travel dates (3 to 9 August) currently start at GBP 74.20. ISTR that a couple of weeks ago the return flight including taxes was GBP 72, so they've gone up a little. There might be some cheap fares still available on the train, but you then have the cost of getting from Heathrow to Kings Cross, which would probably wipe out any savings. I don't know any specific links, but: Internal flights should be frequent and not too expensive. Trains might be a bit cheaper depending how you book. But less convenient if you're already at the airport. A coach would be much cheaper but take much longer. Maybe ask on FILK_UK if anyone could give you a lift up?
