Pretty much just someone to be in the UK for "in the UK" things, like 
mailing or receiving physical papers that might be needed, being at the 
convention earlier than I can be there (though we'll probably be in the 
UK early in the week of the con, I'll be at the GBBF for at least one 
day before heading up to Glasgow), making phone calls if needed, etc.

Hopefully not a lot, as everything should be able to be arranged by 
email, but any proofreading of actual written material (for instance) 
may still be best done by someone who can get the material within a day 
or two by regular mail.

If we do the "every country has its day" themes, then the UK day leader 
might make the best sacrificial ... er ... in-country helper.
