I agree with Bill.  I also like to hit the parties; typically I'll 
party-hop from 8-10pm (or 11pm), then head for the filk.  So having the 
open filking in the same hotel in the parties is a plus for me too.

Although if there's a large disparity in hotel costs sometimes I will 
opt for the cheaper hotel even if it **isn't** the filk hotel.
