Yeahhhhhh!  It's almost here!  GAFilk 5!

Here are some last minute items you might find helpful:

Don't forget to pack your fancy dress clothes for the Champagne New Years
Party for opening ceremonies.  We clean up pretty nice, and the paparazi are
rampant.

High speed internet access in your hotel rooms is FREE!  Feel free to bring
your laptops.

If you reserved a room at the hotel using an Internet rate (in other words
"not the convention rate") you may find yourself in a room with an outside
entrance. (Brrrrrr shiver.)  You may wish to change to the convention rate
so you can have a warm entrance in our interior cozy room block.

The weekend weather in Atlanta is predicted to be cloudy, winds 8 - 10 mph,
with a high of 49 degrees with a low in the 25s at night.  If you are easily
chilled, you might want to bring a coat.  (The Canadians are laughing....)

The Holiday Inn - Airport North runs a shuttle directly to and from the
airport that leaves every 15 - 20 minutes.  You will find it in the Ground
Transportation section of the airport in Section F.

Driving Directions to our wonderful new hotel:

Driving north from Florida:

Take I-75 North.  Exit I-75 via ramp at sign reading "Exit 238B I-285-Byp W
to Atl Airport / Chattanooga" and go Southwest for 1.4 miles. Continue on
I-285,GA-407 and go West for 2.0 miles. Exit I-285,GA-407 via ramp at sign
reading "Exit 61 I-85 to Atlanta / Montgomery" and go Northwest for 0.8
miles. Continue on I-85 and go Northeast for 3.3 miles. Exit I-85 via ramp
at sign reading "Exit 73B Virginia Ave West" and go South for 0.2 miles.
Turn right on Virginia Ave and go West for 0.4 miles. The Holiday Inn will
be on the left.

Driving south from New England:

Drive Southwest on I-85 for 514 miles. Exit I-85 via ramp to Virginia Ave
and go Southwest for 0.3 miles. Turn right on Virginia Ave and go West for
800 feet.  The Holiday Inn will be on the left.

Driving south from Chicago:

Drive Southeast on I-75 for 113 miles. Continue on I-85 at sign reading
"Exit 242 I-85 S to Atl Airport / Montgomery" and go Southwest for 3.0
miles. Exit I-85 via ramp to Virginia Ave and go Southwest for 0.3 miles.
Turn right on Virginia Ave and go West for 800 feet.  The Holiday Inn will
be on the left.

Driving west from Augusta:

Drive West on I-20,GA-402 for 139 miles. Exit I-20,GA-402 via ramp at sign
reading "Exit 57 I-75 S / I-85 S / I-75 N / I-85 N to Macon / Montgomery /
Chattanooga / Greenville" and go Southwest for 1.0 miles. Continue on I-85
and go South for 6 miles. Exit I-85 via ramp to Virginia Ave and go
Southwest for 0.3 miles. Turn right on Virginia Ave and go West for 800
feet.  The Holiday Inn will be on the left.

Driving East from Dallas:

Drive East on I-20 for 134 miles. Exit I-20 via ramp to I-85 and go
Southeast for 0.7 miles. Continue on I-85 and go South for 6 miles. Exit
I-85 via ramp to Virginia Ave and go Southwest for 0.3 miles. Turn right on
Virginia Ave and go West for 800 feet.  The Holiday Inn will be on the left.
