	Once again, it's good to have minions. :-> Phil heard tell of
this, and forwarded it on; and so, I'm forwarding it to all y'all. It's in
Woodstock, not Chicago itself, but considering I've been known to drive to
Milwaukee or Peoria for the right band ... here we go.

Every filker should know who the Berrymans are.  In case anyone forgets,
they're responsible for Your State's Name Here, A Chat With Your Mom (The
F-Word Song), Pass the Pepper, and several other hilarious pieces heard
from time to time in midwest filk circles.

Four Shillings Short (in their current incarnation) are the duo of Aodh Og
o Tuama and Christy Martin; they do a mixture of contemporary folk,
traditional (mainly Irish) songs and tunes, and some very good but
mind-bendingly odd arrangements of traditional folk songs.  Plus, Christy
plays traditional Indian ragas on the sitar.  Filkers may remember the name
from an earlier incarnation of the band which included Heather Alexander,
Kristoph Klover, and Margaret Davis; although those familiar people are no
longer involved, they're still excellent musicians with interesting
material, some of it filk-relevant, and very cool people too.

Four Shillings Short are also playing at Uncommon Ground, 1214 W. Grace
St., Chicago (773)929-3680 on Thu Jul 18.  "This is a benefit for the
Enterprising Kitchen Benefit which helps inner-city, single moms become
self-sufficient.  Benefit 6-9pm  Concert 9:30-11pm."

And in the unlikely event that anyone besides me who might see this message
is closer to Champaign than Chicago, Four Shillings Short are also playing
at Mike&Molly's, 105 N. Market, Champaign, 9-12pm (sic) Fri. Jul. 19.
