Greetings all, 
              
Hopefully, this isn't too much of an inappropriate use of this list.  If it is, I apologize. 
              
Anyway, as some of you know, I was laid off last month when the company that I'd been working for was acquired.  As such, I'm looking for a new job, and the job market right now is pretty dismal, so I'm digging deeper into my network than usual (I've never in my career spent this long looking for a new position). 
              
I am a software engineer / database engineer / software developer / programmer-analyst  (depending on what term you like), and have a reasonable amount of management experience as well (I was Director of Engineering at Magna Cash at the time of the acquisition).  If the company you are working for is looking for someone with these skills, or  you know someone who is, please pass along my information.  I am still trying to  keep my commute livable, and avoid the Cupertino / Sunnyvale / San Jose area.
