[ba-filk] Would you like to see Karen Linsley at Consonance 2002?

Hey, filkers ---

    There's a fan fund brewing to bring Karen Linsley to Consonance next
year as a Special Guest.

    As most of you know, Karen performed at Consonance 2000 with her partner
Lloyd, who died tragically while eating meat.

    Karen was deeply moved to hear that our local filk community cared
enough to try to bring her back to Consonance.

    So far:

    - Consonance (through Alan Thiesen) has volunteered to cover Karen's
membership.

    - Kathy Mar has offered crash space at her house before and after the
convention.
    
    - Four $100 pledges have been made by Joey Shoji, Nick Smith, Alan
Thiesen, and myself.

    I believe approximately $300 more needs to be raised to cover Karen's
airfare and Consonance hotel room.

    Would anyone else like to make Karen's visit a reality? It would only
take 3 more people matching the same pledge amount that Joey, Nick, Alan and
I have already made.
