[ba-filk-announce] Clubhouse filk this Saturday

Reminder: I'll be hosting my first "house" filk this century on
Saturday, February 12. As many of you remember, I hosted a number of
them during the final 15% of last century. I hope to host many more
before this century is through.

The ending time is open; I again obtained a waiver of the clubhouse
rules based on our past good behavior, so we don't need to end at
midnight. As for starting time, I'm thinking 7pm, unless a few people
contact me and say they really want to come earlier.

Since there are so many restaurants within a couple of kilometers, I
suggest that it might be fun for people to prearrange group dinners
(say, 2 to 6 people, about as many as can meaningfully eat together)
just before the filk. That would work especially well for anyone who's
attending both this and Eli's tape-to-CD thing, since they'd have to
pass right by a number of restaurants.

Potluck items are encouraged at the filk. The clubhouse even has a
kitchen nook.

Directions in a nutshell: By car, take either 101 or 85 and get off on
Moffett Blvd. heading toward downtown, away from Moffett Field; park in
any unnumbered spot. From Caltrain or LRT, get off at the Mountain
View station and walk 1.2km toward Moffett Field. (Getting back late
at night is another story.) In the unlikely event that anyone is
planning to get here under their own power (e.g., bike, foot, roller
blade), Moffett Blvd. is the one street that the Stevens Creek Trail
crosses at grade level; go south one block and turn left.

Despite the address (500 W. Middlefield), the clubhouse is right off of
Moffett Blvd. (The Middlefield entrance is more roundabout and
involves a couple of left turns.) Enter on the first driveway on
Moffett that is north of the Middlefield cross street (and south of
where 85 passes over) and look for a raised glass structure just ahead
of you and on your left.
