[3WS-discuss] News and gigs for the month of July

Hi, everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't been more in touch with the mailing list; this summer is
turning out to be very busy!

Aside from last week's appearance at Sci-Fi Summer (and thanks to everyone
who came out; we had a good time), I spent the weekend of June 22-24 at
Conterpoint, a convention in Maryland, and I brought an advance copy of the
Three Weird Sisters CD, "Rite The First Time" to donate to their Interfilk
auction. Daniel and Melissa Glasser walked away with the CD for a $45
donation.

Speaking of the CD, I heard that the liner notes and cover arts were
transferred to film this morning! This means that we'll be getting the
masters and printed matter to the duplicators within the next couple of
days. We saw the final cover art and liner notes last night and made last
minute corrections on the liner notes. I think folks will be very pleased
with the art; Venessa has done a terrific job. All the lyrics are included
in the CD booklet, of course. Bill Sutton says we're looking at a 3-4 week
turnaround time on the CD, so we're expecting to see them before World Con.
As soon as we have them, you'll know!

We have two gigs coming up that you might want to know about.

On July 27, we'll be back at the Harvest Café in Acworth. I'll send out
directions again to that venue in a week or so. Admission is $5 at the door.
Visiting the Harvest Café is well worth the drive; it's a terrific
restaurant and there's a gift shop attached that we've all spent money at
the times we've played there. Mike, the guy who owns/manages the place,
treats us very well, and we love playing there.

On July 28, we'll be at the Java House in Conyers. Again, I'll send out
directions to that venue in a week or so. The Java House is one of the
venues that's been incredibly supportive of us over the last year and a
half, and I hope you'll all come out. Door is $6 and remember that when we
play there, we get to keep everything people pay at the door.

The next convention we are planning on attending is this year's WorldCon,
the Millennium Philcon in Philadelphia PA, over the Labor Day weekend. Check
out http://www.worldcon.org to learn more about WorldCon.

We also have one song available for download from mp3.com and a few more
will be coming soon! Our mp3.com site is at
http://www.mp3.com/three_weird_sisters --be sure to check it out. The song
featured on that site now is "Little Boy Blue," but you never know what'll
be up there in the future, so bookmark it!

This weekend I am traveling to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in
North Carolina to compete in the National Scottish Harp Championship. For
the first time, I will be competing in the Master/Professional division, so
please think good thoughts at me on Saturday afternoon.

Take care, everyone, and I'll send another update as soon as we have CDs for
you to purchase, if not before.

Hugs,
Gwen
