This is a Unitarian coffeehouse. We'll be playing a half hour set, starting
at 8:30. Doors open at 7:30; music starts at 8:00. There are three other
acts on the bill, and it's a good way to spend an evening and get to listen
to different kinds of music.
Here's the blurb from Hungry Ear, followed by the directions.
THE HUNGRY EAR
A coffeehouse in the pines
--- Owen Frederic, original, acoustic, singer-songwriter;
--- "Three Weird Sisters," eclectic, acoustic trio featuring Brenda Sutton
(guitar & bodhran), Gwen Knighton (Scottish wirestrung harp), and
Teresa Gibson (stand-up bass), as well as vocals in tight harmonies
and many styles;
--- Jack and Barbara Brantley, this multi-instrumentalist couple delight
with their folk / Latino influenced original music; and featuring
--- Bill Kahler, singer/songwriter in the acoustic folk vein with influences
from James Taylor to David Wilcox. Bill's CD "Water From the Well"
has received favorable reviews. He's currently working on a follow up
which should be available this fall.

Smoke-free Environment BYOB
From 285 (the "top end" of the Perimeter);
Westbound, take Exit 24, Riverside Drive. At top of the exit ramp make a
left (inside Perimeter). You'll go over the highway you just got
off. Riverside Drive dead ends in about 1/2 mile at Mt. Vernon Highway (a
2-lane road!). There'll be a stop sign. Turn right. We're about 1 mile
down on the right. You'll go through 2 traffic lights. One right
away. Then you'll go past 2 large churches, one on your right and one on
your left. After 2nd traffic there'll be subdivisions on both sides of the
road. Just past the SD on the right, look for the sign for "Northwest
Unitarian Universalist Congregation" and additional "Coffeehouse, Saturday,
8:00 p.m." sign. You won't see the building from the road, we're back in
the woods. Turn right into driveway. We're the larger building on the
right. Don't get too excited if the parking lot is pretty full because
there's a rental in the smaller building that accounts for many of the cars.
Eastbound (or from 75) - Take first exit east of 75, Northside Drive /
Powers Ferry Road. Turn right (inside Perimeter). You'll go less than 1
mile southbound on Northside Drive. Watch for yellow blinking light. Go
through that and in about 1/8 of a mile you'll see a "sideways T" sign
indicating a road to your left. That's Mt. Vernon Highway (a 2-lane road!).
Turn left just before island. Go about 1/2 mile. Look for sign above on
your left just past a curve. If you get to a stop light you've gone too
far.
