[3WS-discuss] Gig! Java House, Saturday March 10

Here's a reminder about this Saturday's gig at Conyers' Java House, a great
venue staffed by great people who really love the acoustic music community.
And they make a great cuppa coffee, too! Their website is at
http://www.java920.com/ .

The doors open at 7:45 pm, cover charge is $6, and we start playing at 8:30.
I hear from Shelley Smith, the House's capable and dedicated proprietor,
that lots of people who've been into the shop in the past few weeks are
really happy that we're coming back there, so we're expecting a pretty full
house on Saturday. My advice is get there early, have one of Shelley's
sandwiches and one of those coconut breves, play a game of checkers, and
prepare to have a good time.

I know, I know, you could go to our next Borders gig and hear us for free,
but the good news about that $6 cover charge is that *we get the door*. That
means that unlike other places that charge a cover and then pay the artists
a fee, you're putting money in our travel coffer, which also serves as the
'Buy Teresa a Flight Case' fund. Do you know how much a flight case for an
upright bass costs, brethren and sistren? It's outrageously expensive. More
expensive than a flight case for a harp, believe it or not. And Old Town
Conyers is a pretty place. Come early and shop! Not to mention, the coffee
at Java House is lots better than at Borders. ;)

We'll be doing a full two-hour show, and although the set list isn't
completely determined yet, I think we'll be doing some stuff you might like,
and we might even have a couple of new songs up our collective sleeves for
Saturday. We've been very busy in the recording studio for the last few
weeks, and I'm pretty jazzed about the way we sound. The good news is that
we're nearly finished recording! There are some extra tracks to be laid
down, a few corners to smooth and mastering to be done, but all the hard
work will be visible -- in a lovely jewel box package that you can take home
with you -- very soon now. We don't have a concrete release date, but you
guys will be among the first to know as soon as we do have one. =) Oh, and
don't forget to check out our website's new look at
http://www.threeweirdsisters.com -- we'll have new photos up soon, too!

Sold? Here's how to get to the Java House.

Take your best route to I-20 EAST from Atlanta.
Take EXIT 80 (West Avenue).
Turn LEFT across the bridge.
Turn RIGHT on Green Street (before RR Tracks).
Turn FIRST LEFT across RR Tracks (Center St.)
Turn RIGHT onto Commercial Street.
Java House is on left.

The street's only about a block long, so park anywhere. You might not see
the Java House sign; it's kind of small, but they're there, I promise.

You'll have to go around to the back door to come in for the concert; they
block the front door when they have musicians, because we'll be playing
right against that front door.

Hope to see you there!
Hugs,
GwenZ

PS-- if you like /hot/ ginger ale, the Java House is the only place in the
Atlanta metro area that I know of that carries Blenheim (Blin'*um) Ginger
Ale, brewed and bottled in McBee, South Carolina, where my college boyfriend
(OK, one of my many college boyfriends [am I oversharing?]) lived. This
stuff kicks!
