[3WS-discuss] News, and February's Schedule!

Hi!

I know, I should have sent out the schedule for February days ago, but I'm a slacker.

First things first: Three Weird Sisters is still in the studio, working on that CD! I will have more details in the next few weeks about things like exactly what songs will be on the CD, who's doing the cover art (and where you can see a picture of it!) and who took all those wonderful photographs of us that will appear in the liner notes. =)

Gigs for February:

Friday, February 16: Borders Books and Music, Duluth (Near Gwinnett Place Mall). We'll be there from 8-10, in our second Valentine's Day show at Borders. If you know our repertoire, you know that this set will *not* just contain sappy sweet lovesongs. In fact, you could hate Valentine's Day altogether and still enjoy our Valentine's Day set. ;)

Saturday, February 17: Harvest Café/Fragranz Plantation, Acworth Georgia. Yes, there is life in Acworth! Harvest Café is a great little restaurant, attached to a fun newagey shop that has things like bumperstickers that say, "Things just haven't been the same since that house fell on my sister." It is quite a drive up to Acworth, but we promise you it's worth it! It's a nice, intimate setting, they leave the store open and man it during breaks, and they treat us very well when we play there. When I booked this show, the owner told me they usually have trouble filling the place for a Saturday night concert. I told him we'd pack the place, of course, so come on out and prove me right! We'll be playing from 8:30-10:30, but they usually let us run a little bit long.

Saturday, March 10: Java House, Conyers, Georgia. The Java House was the first real gig we ever had, and it's still one of our favorite places to play. Shelley, the proprietor, is sincerely interested in local live music, and she does her best to support the artists she books. We've always had a great time at her club, and we bet you will too. I discovered last time we were there that Java House sells Blenheim Ginger Ale, very special stuff made by a small company in McBee, South Carolina. Try some next time you're there if you like strong, hot ginger ale. You won't be disappointed. This show will run from 8-10pm, and there is a $6 cover charge. Note that when you pay a cover charge at the Java House, you are paying us directly: we get the door!

I'll send directions out for the venues in the next couple of days, along with a report on our latest recording sessions.

Thanks, everybody, for coming out and supporting the band,
GwenZ
