FilkNet IRC is a private network for the filk community, brought to you by Rob Wynne and Mike Whitaker. Please let other filkers know about this service, and enjoy it.

This IRC network is intended to provide a similar service to the filk community as the #FilkHaven room at TalkCity, but without the annoying advertisements and spammy user interface. Thanks to Debbie Ridpath Ohi for originally conceiving of a filkers space in IRC.

In order to connect, you will need an IRC client program. You can pick one of our servers explicitly to connect to, or otherwise just use irc.filknet.org port 6667. The usual channel you will find people in is #filkhaven.

If for some reason you cannot use an IRC client, there is a Java client and a CGI Client available: please do not use either of these unless you have no choice - apart from anything else, they aren't anywhere near as good as a standard IRC client! [Try the Java client first - the CGI client is a fallback if you can't get through any other way.]
